Updated · Beyond Travel

Our listed 9D8N journey departs Kuala Lumpur on 16 February 2027 and arrives home on 24 February. The advertised fare starts at RM15,888 per person. Compare what is included and what you need to budget separately before choosing your room.

What is included in this journey?

Flights and ground transport

Return group economy airfare between Kuala Lumpur and Irkutsk, airport taxes, touring coach, a Chinese-speaking guide and Olkhon off-road vehicles.

Eight hotel nights

Four nights in Irkutsk, three on Olkhon Island and one in Beijing during the return connection, at the listed hotels or similar.

Meals

Eight breakfasts and fifteen ground main meals, plus one in-flight meal and the listed speciality dining.

Listed sightseeing and blue-ice experiences

The itinerary combines a Listvyanka hovercraft experience, Olkhon north and south routes, Cape Khoboy, ice caves, Boro Boro camp and Buryat cultural visits.

What needs a separate budget?

Personal arrangements

Visa and passport costs, personal travel insurance, KLIA transfers, excess baggage and personal spending need a separate budget.

Single-room needs

The published single supplement is RM1,800 per person for the full journey. We will confirm the applicable room arrangement and total when you enquire.

Items outside the itinerary

Extra admissions, personal activities, hotel incidentals and additional costs arising from disruptions are outside the included programme.

The return journey includes a Beijing connection and a hotel night there. Factor that travel rhythm into your holiday planning. Ice conditions may require activity changes, which we will explain to the group.

Questions to settle before booking

Is the hovercraft the same as the Olkhon off-road vehicle?

No. They are different experiences: the itinerary uses a hovercraft near Listvyanka and off-road vehicles for the Olkhon routes. We will coordinate lake activities around current ice conditions.

Are all eight nights on Olkhon Island?

No. The listed split is four nights in Irkutsk, three on Olkhon and one in Beijing during the return connection.

Are visa costs and personal travel insurance included?

No. These need a separate budget. Tell us your travel-document situation and we will explain the arrangements relevant to your booking.

Can the blue ice and ice caves look exactly like the photos?

Their appearance varies with temperature, light and ice conditions. We will prioritise safe routes and explain any necessary activity adjustments.
