Romantic Hokkaido — the full journey
DAY 01
KUALA LUMPUR ✈ NEW CHITOSE
- We meet at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and travel to New Chitose Airport on D7 550.
DAY 02
NEW CHITOSE → NOBORIBETSU → LAKE TOYA
- Walk through Noboribetsu Jigokudani to see volcanic steam, sulphurous streams and active onsen terrain.
- View Showa-Shinzan from a distance, a volcanic peak formed during the Showa era and still changing today.
- Visit the Bear Ranch with admission included, then continue to the Lake Toya onsen area for the night.
DAY 03
LAKE TOYA → OTARU
- Take in the coast and harbour from the Otaru Shukutsu Panorama Observation Deck.
- Visit Sankaku Market for a glimpse of everyday life in a Hokkaido port market.
- Browse the Music Box Museum's collection of classic and modern music boxes.
- Walk along Sakaimachi Street and visit Kitaichi Glass Hall for Otaru glass craft.
- Stroll beside Otaru Canal and its stone warehouses, known for their nostalgic gas-lamp atmosphere.
DAY 04
OTARU → SAPPORO
- Explore Shiroi Koibito Park and enjoy the included cup of ice cream.
- Visit Hokkaido Shrine to discover an important part of the region's Shinto heritage.
- When weather permits, we will arrange the cable-car ride up Mt. Moiwa for a 360-degree night view of Sapporo.
DAY 05
SAPPORO FREE DAY
- Enjoy a full free day for shopping, dining or exploring Sapporo at your own pace; transport and meals are at your own arrangement.
DAY 06
SAPPORO CITY DISCOVERY
- Stop at a duty-free shop for allocated shopping time.
- Cross the water garden and 40-metre tunnel to visit Tadao Ando's Hill of the Buddha and the nearby Moai statues.
- Walk through Odori Park, Sapporo's broad central green axis.
- Explore the roughly one-kilometre Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade and its mix of old and new shops.
- Enjoy the dinner we arrange to close the Hokkaido journey.
DAY 07
SAPPORO → NEW CHITOSE ✈ KUALA LUMPUR
- We arrange the transfer to New Chitose Airport and the return to Kuala Lumpur on D7 551.
